ABOUT UNIVERSITY:

Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal is a private university established under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, 1956 and is based in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. ABOUT APCAM

APCAM (Asia Pacific Centre for Arbitration & Mediation) is an international ADR centre formed jointly by about ten arbitration and mediation centres from the Asia-Pacific countries, which host APCAM centres in their respective countries. APCAM caters the requirement of International and cross-border business disputes, and helps the business community to resolve their international commercial and business disputes by mediation or arbitration under a single set of Mediation and Arbitration Rules and with a uniform fee structure in all the member countries to minimize the hassle of adhering to different laws or fees of different institutions. APCAM also empanels a common panel of international mediators and arbitrators, with uniform accreditation system from all the countries, which would help the parties to experience uniform high-standard practice, bringing credibility and professionalism of mediators and arbitrators. Setting the world of dispute resolution in a different path! The administration of APCAM is done by an independent Governing Board comprising of Nominee Board members from each constituent institutions, who are some of the best arbitrators, mediators or ADR professionals from the Asia-Pacific region. The Board is also supported by team of experienced lawyers, ADR professionals and academicians from diverse jurisdictions, under different Committees. About JLU-Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and Alternate Dispute Resolution

The JLU-Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and Alternate Dispute Resolution has been established with an aim to provide a forum for deliberations and skill development in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution majorly focusing on Arbitration, Mediation, Concialiation and Negotiation and aspects related thereto. We wish to elevate the set standards of practice in the field of ADR both within and outside the Jagran Lakecity University, Bhopal.

About the Competition

The 1st JLU-International Mediation Tournament, 2021 will be one of its kind Mediation Competition ever organised. It shall consist teams from various educational institutes from around the globe. Through this competition, we aim to provide a platform to the participants to come and compete with each other and develop their skills in this field in accordance with the valuable guidance of experts.

  1. LANGUAGE OF THE COMPETITION
    The competition will be conducted strictly in English language.
  2. TIME OF THE COMPETITION
    The Competition will be conducted as per the Indian Standard Time (IST) which is +5:30 Hours GMT and therefore all teams are requested to adjust to the timings accordingly. Any delay on the part of the participants will not be entertained.
  3. PARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY
    The competition is open for participation for all bona fide students enrolled in Law Degree courses 3-Year (LL.B.) and 5-Year Integrated Course (B.A./BBA/BCom/BSc., LL.B.) or Masters in Law Courses (LL.M.) in any recognised University and/or Law School across India. The eligibility for Foreign Students is that they must be enrolled in any law or ADR accredited courses from any reputed and registered University across the world.
    a. Team Composition
    a. A team shall consist of two members, at least i.e., One Client & one Counsel.
    b. One Mediator may register along with one team.
    c. A student may register as a Mediator independently as well.
    d. A Team may register a Coach along with the Team to accompany them in the Rounds as a silent
    spectator.
    e. Teams shall not be altered after registration, except under extreme exigencies, on the discretion
    of the Organising Committee.
    NOTE: A person registering as a Mediator shall not switch to the role of either of the Client Counsel
    Pair and vice-versa. Although, the Client Counsel pair may switch their roles as per the requirement
    of the Competition with prior information to the Organising Committee.

Registration Details:

The Teams may register by filling out the following forms and making the corresponding payments
of registration. The teams will be allotted slots of participation on first come first serve basis. There
is a cap of 32 teams. A maximum of two teams may participate from one Educational
Institution/University.

Payment Details:

Team Registration: If a team registers all three members i.e. Client, Counsel and Mediator, the registration fee will be as follows:
