CfP for law students: MNLU and MGCL’s National Seminar & Conference on Environmental Crimes and Environmental Law Faculties [Respectively, Dec 21-22]: Register by Nov 25

The national conference of environmental law faculties is a relatively new and innovative project with the goal of establishing a nationwide network of environmental law colleges in order to make effective interventions in environmental policies and regulations.

Environmental crimes have emerged as a result of the emerging environmental law. There have been extensive conversations and deliberations in recent months about the nature and scope of rising environmental crimes. Environmental crimes, as well as current and prospective tendencies in environmental crimes, must be made more widely known.

Information on Fees
Registration fee of Rs. 700/- includes paper presentation and publication.
Registration is Rs. 200/- without a paper presentation or publishing.
Fees will not be reimbursed.

Eligibility
The Seminar is open to academicians, legal practitioners, research scholars, law students, environmentalists, activists, and others.

Submission Requirements

  • All documents must be submitted in Microsoft Word format, with a one-inch margin on all sides.
  • The text should be written in Times New Roman with a font size of 12 and 1.5 line spacing.
  • Footnotes must be written in Times New Roman, size 10, with single line spacing.
  • Citation Style: The Bluebook 20th Edition citation style should be used throughout the paper.
  • 4000-4500 words is the word limit (excluding footnotes).
  • The language of research papers should be English.

Selected Papers will be published.
Depending on the quality of the articles and University Policy, the selected papers will be published in the future Journal of Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai or in the form of a book.

Sub-Themes: The thematic areas covered in various sessions are listed below; the themes are solely indicative in nature.

  • Conventional Crimes of pollution
  • Trade-related environmental crimes including smuggling of certain chemicals and
    Wild Life Products
  • Pollution and Crime arising out of Improper disposal of Waste
  • Forest and Wildlife related Crimes
  • Polluting Oceans and Marine Resources
  • Polluting Air and Outer space
  • Falsifying data pertaining to environmental regulations

Important Instructions

  • All entries must be the author’s original, unpublished work, and they must not have been previously submitted, accepted, or published.
  • It is permissible for individuals from the same or different universities to co-author entries (up to two). It is not permitted to submit multiple entries by the same author.
  • Articles will be subjected to blind peer review and acceptance will be contingent on the peer review team’s report. Submissions that do not meet the above conditions will not be considered. At any point during the review process, the Editorial Board reserves the discretion to accept or reject submissions.
  • Sources are essential, and links to those citations should be included as well. Authors may also include links to rich media, such as embedded media such as Tweets and video, in their contributions.
  • Plagiarism-related articles will be rejected outright. Plagiarism of more than 10% will result in rejection.
  • Papers can also be submitted in person without incurring any additional fees.

Dates to Remember

  • The deadline for abstract submission is November 25, 2021.
  • Acceptance or rejection date: November 28, 2021
  • The deadline for submitting a full article is December 15, 2021.
  • The deadline to register is November 25, 2021.
