‘Vidhishashtra’ 1st VGU Ranka National Trial Advocacy Competition, 2022 [April 02-04]: Register by March 15

Faculty of Law, Vivekananda Global University’s Moot Court Society is organizing their 1st VGU Ranka National Trial Advocacy Competition, 2022, to be held from April 02 to 04, 2022.

About the Organization

Vivekananda Global University is one of the leading private university of Jaipur. Students at VGU are provided with ample number of opportunities to develop on both the fronts, personal as well as professional standards. In recent years VGU has received numerous of recognition and titles in category of education, research & building sustainability. Being just 12 years young VGU has set up thousands of benchmarks and has become the fastest growing university of India.

About Moot Court Society

The moot court society of Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur was established in September 2020 under the guidance and support by our Dean Prof. (Dr.) N.L.Gurjar and our HOD, Department of Law Dr. Venoo Rajpurohit under the able guidance of Hon’ble Justice J. K. Ranka, Former Judge, Rajasthan High Court and the immense contribution of our faculty members. The society has been named as the Moot Court Society under the designation of Dr. Venoo Rajpurohit as our Faculty Chairperson along with the support and backbone of the society as of Mr. Ishan Atrey and Mr. Jyotirmoy Banerjee as the Faculty Advisor of the society.

About the Event

This Competition is conceived to promote & develop skills about the procedure followed by Trial Courts and testing the knowledge of the law students across the nation. It tests the law students both on the aspects of knowledge of law and facts. This is an effort of providing such a platform to law students so they can learn the basics of trial Court which in turn open a wider gate of one’s overall learning experience. Most law school trial advocacy courses focus on tactical skills, though some integrate basic methods of strategic planning. Some academics have expressed disfavor with advanced strategic techniques because of the imbalance they create, especially against attorneys who are unaware of them.

Objective

This Competition is conceived to promote & develop professional and practical skills about the procedure followed by Trial Courts and testing the knowledge of the law students across the nation. This is an effort of providing such a platform to law students so they can learn the basics of trial Court which in turn open a wider gate of one’s overall learning experience.

Important Dates

  • Registrations Opening Dates: January 12, 2022
  • Registrations Closing Dates: March 15, 2022
  • Submission of Memorial: March 25, 2022
  • Clarification Dates: March 20, 2022
  • Event Dates: April 02-04, 2022

Registration

Rs. 4,500/- (Inclusive of Registration Fees, Food & Accommodation)

Eligibility

Students pursuing a 3-Year LL.B. Degree Course or 5-Year Integrated LL.B Degree Course and LL.M Degree Course from the colleges recognised by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate in the competition.

Cash Prize & Award

There will be a participation certificate which will be awarded to all the participants.

The certificate and awards of merit/excellence will be presented to all those participants as under:

  • Winners – Rs. 15,000/-
  • 1st Runner’s Up – Rs. 10,000/-
  • Best Prosecution – Rs. 5,000/-
  • Best Defence – Rs. 5,000/-
  • Best Researcher – Rs. 5,000/-
