“Environment belongs to all living beings, so it needs protection by all, for the welfare of all.”(Ishopanisad-1)

Nature is the very foundation on which the survival, welfare and development of humans is based. It is neither an option nor a luxury. The relationship between humans and environment is a delicate and sacred bond and has existed long before we coined the
term ‘environment’. Its preservation and judicious usage is paramount to ensure the protection of life on this planet. The untying of this tender bond has led to the rising of the ugly head of environmental crisis. Prosperity of economy, industrialization has furthered us into urbanisation and mindless use of resources. We are sinking into the endless rabbit hole fast and are at the verge of mass extinction. However the greed gets better of us and we forget that health of this beautiful blue and green heaven of ours is inseparable from the future of life existence. Glaciers are shrinking, temperatures are rising, forests are lost, a total change in ora and fauna is observable for last thirty years and we are still sleeping like the proverbial ’ Kumbhkarna’. The conservation of resources and environment, repairing the damage and reversal of the current trends is the need of the hour not only at local, regional or national level but should be addressed globally. The task is mammoth but perseverance conquers all. The seminar is just a small step in the direction of creating a better environment and a safer planet for our coming generations.
