About the Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai

The Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established under the Maharashtra National Law University Act 2014 on 20th March 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India.

The Act envisaged establishing National Law University in Maharashtra to impart advanced legal education and promote society oriented research in legal studies for the advancement of the social life of the people in the country.

The prime goal of the University is to disseminate advanced legal knowledge and processes of law amongst the students and impart to them the skills of advocacy, legal services, and law reforms and make them aware and capable to utilize these instruments for social transformation and development.

Since its inception, the University has made serious and sincere efforts to excel in the field of legal research and education. Within the span of six years, the University has been able to traverse an arduous yet, promising path filled with lots of possibilities for the future.

About the Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law

The Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law (CICTL) aims to be a centre for excellence in generating and disseminating knowledge concerning the interrelationship between technology and law across the globe.

Objectives of the centre

  1. To explore the opportunities and challenges in the information society and provide legal and policy solutions.
  2. To serve as a platform to bring together experts, leaders and researchers from the technical and legal domains.
  3. To undertake, promote and disseminate core law and policy research in the techno-legal field.
  4. To work in collaboration with national and international research centres, global academia, international, governmental and non-governmental organizations and the tech industry.
  5. To offer consultancy services to a variety of sectors including legal professionals, private industry, non-profit and public agencies in the techno-legal field.

Eligibility

Students who are pursuing/completed Three years of (5 Years Degree) or Two Years of (3 Years Degree) or have completed LLB Degree or pursuing LLM are eligible for applying.

Position

The centre is looking to engage full-time interns on a rolling basis to assist with the activities of the centre at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai.

Duration

The applicants are required to mention the duration of their availability at the time of application itself. The minimum duration is four weeks.

Preference shall be given to applicants who are available for longer durations.

Mode

Both online and offline internships are permitted.

Other Details

  • The mode of Internship shall be online/offline.
  • The Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law reserves the right to conduct interviews.
  • No TA/stipend shall be paid for the interview.
  • The Centre reserves the right to not fill the notified positions.
  • Students who are pursuing/completed Three years of (5 Years Degree) or Two Years of (3 Years Degree) or have completed LLB Degree or pursuing LLM are eligible for applying.
  • Interns possessing exceptional research skills may be given an opportunity to be a part of research projects, publications at reputed journals/books etc., drafting policy, etc. taken up under the centre’s initiative.
  • Interns have to specify the month/duration of the internship in their application while applying.

The applicants are required to submit their CVs and a Statement of Purpose (maximum 400 words) to the Director, Centre for Information Communication Technology and Law mentioning the period of internship for which they are available.
