Full Time Position – Counsellor at the Counselling Center, TISS, Mumbai
No of positions – 2 full time positions
Location – Mumbai Campus, TISS
Timings – 12pm to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 1 Saturday (12pm – 6pm) per month.
Depending upon need and workload, counsellor maybe expected to work on 2 Saturdays as well.
Remuneration – minimum Rs. 40,000/- (negotiable based on experience)
Qualifications –
Minimum qualification is postgraduate degree in psychology/ medical and psychiatric social work, social work in mental health
MPhil in Psychiatric Social Work, Clinical Psychology or PG Dip in Counselling would be preferred
Minimum 1-2 years of experience of direct counselling, case work interventions with individuals and families
Candidates with counselling experience of working with young people in school/college settings would be preferred
Please note: Interested alumni of TISS, who have graduated in or before 2020 can apply.
Job Description –
Counselling with individual students
Documentation of counselling sessions/ case notes and monthly reports
based on counselling work with students
Making referrals to psychiatrist and other mental health services
Liasoning with faculty, institute authorities and faculty advisory board on
individual cases where necessary
Making case presentations to the faculty advisory board
Conducting trainings under the peer support programme of the
counselling center
Conducting other developmental activities with students on campus
throughout the year
Updating the social media page/s of the counselling center by creating
mental health promotional and awareness materials
Assisting the co-ordinator of the counselling center in preparing annual
report of the activities of the center
