About Panjab University
Panjab University (PU) is a collegiate public state university located in Chandigarh, India. Funded through both State and Union governments, it is considered a state university.
It traces its origins to the University of the Punjab in Lahore, which was founded in 1882. After the partition of India, the university was established on October 1, 1947, and called East Punjab University. Initially housed primarily at a cantonment in Solan, it later relocated to a newly built campus in Chandigarh, and was renamed Panjab University.

Panjab University is hiring for an Assistant Professor.
Eligibility and Experience
- Good academic record with at least 55% marks in LL.M. (50% in case of SC/ST/Physically & Visually handicapped candidates), 50% marks in LL.B. examination (45% in case of SC/ST/Physically and Visually handicapped candidates) and should have either cleared UGC NET, CSIR or should have obtained Ph.D. Degree in the relevant subject
- LL.B. degree with at least 55% marks and at least 10 years practice at the Bar/10 years employment experience at officer level with experience of application/enforcement of the relevant branch of Law/10 years’ experience as Chartered Accountant. The candidate should not be more than 65 years of age. The applicants must submit one copy of biodata alongwith self-attested testimonials and one photograph in the office at the time of interview.
