About the National Law University, Delhi (NLUD) Doctoral Law Colloquium:

The aim of the colloquium is to bring together Law (MPhil/PhD) students undertaking research within the broad theme of contemporary issues in law to provide a supportive and collaborative environment for exchange of ideas.

The colloquium is structured in a manner that allows for students at different levels of their doctoral journey to participate.

About the Theme for the Colloquium:

The first inaugural colloquium is formulated in broad terms so to enable the representation of a wide range of issues currently being researched across the country. The sessions will broadly be categorised into public law, private law and interdisciplinary research. The potential themes that can be addressed includes but not limited to the following areas:

  • Constitutional Law
  • Criminal law
  • Law and Markets
  • Competition Law
  • Company Law
  • Environmental Law
  • Labour Law
  • Family Law
  • Law and Technology
  • Climate Change and Energy Law
  • Intellectual Property Law
  • Trade Law
  • Public and Private International Law

Note: However, students are invited to send in their abstracts that do not necessarily fit neatly into the above listed categories. The organisers will strive to build sessions that can capture a wide range of research interests.

Registration Fee:

The registration fee for the colloquium is INR 250.

Abstract Submission and Application Procedure:

The deadline for receipt of applications is 30th January 2023.

Interested candidates can submit the following by email

  • Abstract of the research paper or presentation to be presented at the colloquium (not more than 500 words)
  • Brief resume focusing on key research achievements to date (conference presentations, publications etc.). It must also state whether the student is a young scholar or a senior student.
  • The subject column of the submission email must be composed as “NLUDPHDCOLLOQUIUM2023 Submission – Name”. Please also specify in the email whether it is a full paper for Session I or an extended paper for Session II.
  • The abstract and the curriculum vitae must be emailed at [email protected].

  • Venue: National Law University, Delhi
  • Accommodation: Not available
  • All meals for the three days will be provided by NLUD.

Important Dates:

  • Submission of abstracts: 30th January 2023
  • Acceptance of abstracts:10th February 2023
  • Submission of full papers/extended abstracts: 1st March 2023
  • Last date of registration:10th March 2023
  • Workshop date:16-18th March 2023
