Call for Blogs for law students- HPNLU’s Green Gazette Vol. 2 Issue 1: Submit by May 15 

The CEDM newsletter “HPNLU Green Gazette” endeavours to create a space that fosters independent academic thought, inculcates a culture of research and ignites conversations on matters of environmental jurisprudence and environmental values.

With the object of furthering discussion on environmental jurisprudence and values, the CEDM Newsletter by HP NLU is calling for blogs from students, academicians, law practitioners & every environmental cause enthusiast ona rolling basis.

Theme

The theme for Vol. 2 Issue 1 is Environment and Law.

Sub Themes

Contributors can further choose the sub themes related to the main theme of the respective issue to which they are contributing their write-ups.

Structure of Newsletter

The Green Gazette is a quarterly newsletter that consists of five parts:

  1. The Green Report: This section of the newsletter deals with articles that are in general related to the environment other than law.
  2. The Green Clause: This section deals with articles that are exclusively related to environmental law.
  3. The Green Column: This section deals with short writings which are a combination of both the legal and non-legal aspects of environmental issues.
  4. The Green Rhyme: This section gives you an opportunity to showcase your poem writing skills related to environmental issues
  5. The Green Challenge: This section gives you an opportunity to showcase your painting and photography skills related to environmental issues.

Submission Guidelines

  • The entries (short articles, columns, poems, paintings & photographs) must be the original work of the author(s) and must not have been sent for consideration at any other place for presentation or publication. The work should not be plagiarized.
  • Co-authorship up to two authors is allowed for the articles.
  • The short-articles/columns/poems must be submitted in an MS-Word document and painting/photographs must be submitted in .jpg/.png form.
  • The article must include a brief description of the author.
  • The copyright of the articles shall automatically transfer to CEDM-HPNLU, Shimla editorial board.
  • In relation to all the disputes, the decision of the editorial board shall be final and binding.

Specific Guidelines

The Green Report: This section of the newsletter deals with articles that are in general related to the environment other than law.

  • They prefer an article that is between 1000-1500 words. However, flexibility is allowed if the context so requires, and the quality is ensured.
  • The content should be written in Times New Roman Font with a size of 12. Line Spacing is to be maintained at Single.
  • All the relevant sources must be duly acknowledged and hyperlinked (as endnotes) in the text of the submission itself.

The Green Clause: This section deals with articles that are exclusively related to environmental law.

  • They prefer an article that is between 1000-1500 words. However, flexibility is allowed if the context so requires, and the quality is ensured.
  • The content should be written in Times New Roman Font with a size of 12. Line Spacing is to be maintained at Single. 
  • All the relevant sources must be duly acknowledged and hyperlinked (as endnotes) in the text of the submission itself.

The Green Column: This section deals with short writings which are a combination of both the legal and non-legal aspects of environmental issues.

  • They prefer an article that is between 500-750 words. However, flexibility is allowed if the context so requires, and the quality is ensured.
  • The content should be written in Times New Roman Font with a size of 12. Line Spacing is to be maintained at Single.

The Green Rhyme: This section gives you an opportunity to showcase your poem writing skills related to environmental issues.

  • The submissions must be either in Hindi or English language only in the typed version in MS-Word format.

The Green Challenge: This section gives you an opportunity to showcase your painting and photography skills related to environmental issues.

  • Paintings/Drawings (coloured) should be submitted in scanned versions in portrait mode (vertical). (in .jpg or .png format)
  • Photographs should be submitted on the vertical horizon. (in .jpg or .png format)
