Who Is The Organiser?

The National Law University and Judicial Academy Assam, (NLUJAA) established by the Government of Assam by the enactment of National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam Act 2009 (Assam Act No. XXV of 2009). The university with the generous support of the Government of Assam is now conducting its academic activities in great vigour and glory on the northern banks of the mighty river Brahmaputra, with around 300 students pursuing the flagship programme of the university B.A., LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M and PhD respectively. At present the university conducts its activities under the leadership and guidance of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V.K. Ahuja. They are organizing the 4th Edition of the Gurjeet Singh Memorial National Moot Court Competition, from 26th to 28th May, 2023 in association with the Chambers of Abhinav Mishra, Advocates &
Solicitors.

What Are The Details Of The Competition?

  • Objective: The organising committee crafted the case at hand to effectively focus on the legal complexities which surfaced during the implementation of the supposed“ make or break move”.
  • Date of the event: 26th-28th May 2023
  • Mode: Offline mode
  • Venue: National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam, Hajo Road, Amingaon, Guwahati-781031, Assam, India
  • Eligibility: The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bona-fide on a regular basis in an undergraduate law course conducted by any recognized Institution/College/University. A recognized Institution/College/University shall be entitled to send only one Team to the Competition.
  • Participating Teams: In a team comprising two speakers, one of the speakers shall compulsorily appear for the Researcher’s Test. A maximum of 30 teams will be allowed to participate in the competition. Slots for participating in the competition will be filled on a basis of ‘First Come, First Serve Only’.
  • Last date of registration: 28th April 2023

  • Registration fee: INR 5,500/- per Team. (For colleges not availing accommodation the registration fee is INR 5,000/-per Team).
  • Last date for memorial submission:13th May 2023
  • List of awards:
  1. Winning Team: Cash Prize of ₹40,000/- in addition to SCC Online entitlements and a trophy
  2. Runners-Up Team: Cash Prize of ₹30,000/- in addition to SCC Online entitlements and a trophy
  3. Best Memorial: Cash Prize of ₹20,000/- along with a trophy
  4. Best Speaker: Cash Prize of ₹10,000/- along with a trophy
  5. Best Researcher: Cash Prize of ₹10,000/- in addition to a trophy
  6. Merit Certificates: All participants will be given Participation Certificates & all participants shall get a month- long subsription to SCC Online
