About the Main Theme

Access to Justice is considered a crucial right for all. In the contemporary period, access to justice can be achieved through physical modes and with the help of digital technology. Courts and justice departments are expanding their scope to include different types of cases from consumers and beneficiaries of justice who come from different social strata. The biggest challenge in this context is access to justice for women. Even though many countries have included women and children in the priority list regarding access to justice and free legal aid, it may be seen that due to the lack of empowerment of women, many may not approach courts and criminal justice machinery for problem-solving. Either their families may not allow them to do so, or they may not be aware of easy access to justice. Further, many women may not be aware of digital technology-based tools to access justice. This could be due to a lack of education for women and girls, societal challenges for women, lack of access to phones and the Internet, etc.
This conference aims to discuss issues, challenges and possible solutions for access to justice for women.
