The 2nd Judexis Moot Court Competition, organized by Lex Gazette Academy, is a national-level academic initiative designed to promote excellence in legal research, advocacy, and courtroom practice among law students across India.

Following the successful completion of its first edition, the second edition aims to provide participants with an intellectually rigorous platform to engage in advanced legal problem-solving through memorial drafting and oral submissions. ELIGIBILITY

The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bonafide on a regular basis in an undergraduate Law course (5 years integrated Law course/3 Year L.L.B Course) or its equivalent conducted by any recognized Institution/College/University of any country. A cap of 40 teams is reserved for the Competition, and teams will be selected by first come first serve basis. Each Team shall comprise of a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members. In a Team comprising of two members, both the members shall be designated as Speakers. In a Team comprising three members, the third member of the team shall be designated as Researcher. Any additional member or team coach of any team shall not formally be recognized and will not be entitled to a certificate from the University.

Each team shall complete the registration within the stipulated time. The Teams are required to send a bonafide letter issued by the appropriate authority of their College or University along with the duly filled registration form via mail.

The 1st NMIMS Moot Court Competition, 2025, will be organized and hosted by SVKM’s NMIMS School of Law, Chandigarh Campus, India. This offline competition will take place on 22nd-23rd March 2025.

LANGUAGE

English will be the official language for all oral and written submissions throughout the competition. All participants must adhere strictly to this rule.

STRUCTURE OF THE COMPETITION

The competition will not consist of Memorial Elimination and 24 teams will be selected on first come first served basis. The said teams will participate in the oral rounds, which will include Preliminary Rounds and Advanced Rounds i.e. – Quarterfinals, Semifinals, and the Finals.

ELIGIBILITY 

The Competition is open to students currently enrolled in LL.B. Degree Courses (3 year/5 year). Each participating team must represent only one institution, and no institution will be allowed to register more than one team. In case the Institution has more than one campus, then a team each can represent the campus.

TEAM COMPOSITION

• A team is required to have three members, consisting of two speakers and one researcher.
• After the registration deadline, any substitution of team members will only be permitted under exceptional circumstances and with prior approval from the organizers.

HOW TO REGISTER?

• Teams must register by completing the designated registration form. The registration link is here: https://forms.gle/fAgeJRqLnsttKC1z8
• Each team must designate one member as the Point of Contact (POC), who will be responsible for receiving and sharing all communications related to the competition.
• Upon submission of the registration form, a provisional confirmation email will be sent to the respective institution.
• Registration will only be considered complete once the registration fee has been paid.
• All registration formalities must be completed by 15.02.2025.
• Teams will be assigned a unique Team Code, which must be used for identification throughout the competition.
• Disclosing the institution’s identity in any form during the competition is strictly prohibited and may lead to penalties or disqualification as determined by the faculty convenors of 1st NMIMS MCC 2025.

REGISTRATION FEE

• INR 3000/- for teams without hostel accommodation
• INR 4000/- for teams with hostel accommodation

Payment to be made strictly via Credit/Debit Cards only (No UPI/Net Banking)

CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPATION

The first 24 teams, based on the time of confirmation of their payment, will receive an email confirming their participation. Teams must revert to the email to confirm their participation by 15.02.2025; failing this, invitations will be extended to the next teams in line.
