Introduction
Generative and Agentic AI are no longer futuristic concepts—they are actively transforming how businesses operate, make decisions, and create value. These technologies enable autonomy, adaptability, and continuous learning, offering unprecedented opportunities for efficiency and innovation across industries. At the same time, they introduce significant challenges around ethics, governance, and human oversight.
This Special Issue aims to bring together cutting-edge research that examines the organizational, technical, and societal implications of these technologies. We seek contributions that explore responsible adoption, governance frameworks, and strategies for harmonizing human and AI capabilities in dynamic business environments.
Agentic AI goes beyond traditional automation, functioning as “digital co-workers” capable of proactive decision-making, negotiation, and collaboration. Combined with Generative AI, these systems are reshaping workflows, marketing strategies, and industrial ecosystems through technologies such as digital twins and multimodal orchestration frameworks. Understanding these shifts is critical for designing governance models that ensure transparency, accountability, and trust while mitigating risks like bias, privacy breaches, and ethical misalignment.
