Call for paper: Cachexia

Cachexia

Cachexia, also called wasting syndrome, is a syndrome characterized by body weight loss, mainly in the muscle mass. Cachexia can be associated with many different diseases but may be most devastating in cancer, where it accounts for up to 20% of cancer-related deaths. Despite this, cachexia has no degreed-upon diagnostic criteria, and there is often inefficient management. Understanding the biology of cachexia and identifying effective treatments are necessary to improving patient outcomes.

This Collection welcomes original research into cachexia, including preclinical and clinical studies examining cachexia development, course, and treatment.
