The Hertie School is looking for a
Research Associate or Postdoctoral Researcher – Climate Politics (gn)
on a full-time basis (40 hours/week); part-time employment is an option. Application deadline is 25 June. The contract runs until end of August 2026.
Interested in the opportunity to focus on your own climate politics research project in a stimulating and supportive environment at a leading university? You will join the climate policy team of Prof. Dr. Christian Flachsland at the Hertie School Centre for Sustainability (CfS) to either develop (research associate) or advance (postdoctoral researcher) your own research agenda with the aim of publishing in leading interdisciplinary and disciplinary academic journals. We are open to research on any aspect of climate politics, including comparative climate politics (both national and local levels), multi-level climate governance, and international climate politics. While not a requirement, we encourage collaboration with researchers across all seniority levels at the Centre, the School, and beyond.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree or PhD in political science, political economy, economics, or a related field
- Interest in contributing to cutting-edge climate politics research
- An academic track record or a track record of relevant publications is an asset
- Ability to work independently and in a team
