Celebrating Twenty Five Years of the Jigsaw Trust

Twenty-five years ago, Jigsaw Trust set up a school for 6 primary-aged autistic children. Jigsaw School now supports 80 pupils aged 4-19 and has been rated outstanding by Ofsted on 5 consecutive occasions. JigsawPlus has also been established and supports 50 autistic adults in its centre for lifelong learning. Jigsaw believes that there is a strong correlation between staff expertise and learner outcomes, therefore there is a strong emphasis on staff professional development and research. This special issue provides the opportunity to share more of Jigsaw’s research with the wider community with a focus on what could be learnt from Jigsaw’s experience and what could be replicated in other settings.
