Integrating Non-Market Valuation and Environmental Quality Management in Policy and Planning
This Special Issue aims to bridge the gap between non-market environmental valuation methods and their integration into policy design and strategic planning for sustainable development. Recognizing the growing importance of quantifying ecosystem services and intangible environmental assets, the issue seeks to provide a platform for methodological innovation, interdisciplinary dialogue, and real-world applications. It invites contributions that develop, refine, or apply valuation tools such as contingent valuation, discrete choice experiments, and benefit transfer methods in ways that inform decision-making at various governance levels. Particular attention will be given to case studies, comparative analyses, and policy-relevant insights that emphasize transparency, inclusivity, and cultural diversity in valuation processes. The ultimate goal is to make non-market valuation more accessible, actionable, and embedded within environmental governance frameworks.
