Digital Education for All
The global shift toward digital education has opened unprecedented opportunities while simultaneously exposing deep-rooted inequalities. The COVID-19 pandemic served as both a catalyst and a stress test, forcing educators, institutions, and policymakers to adapt rapidly to online and hybrid models of learning. While this transition revealed the potential of digital platforms to expand access and innovation, it also illuminated persistent barriers related to infrastructure, affordability, teacher readiness, accessibility, and inclusivity. The urgency of addressing these divides has made digital education not only a technological concern but also a socio-cultural, ethical, and policy challenge that demands critical scholarly attention.
The anticipated impact extends beyond academia. Educators will find evidence-based strategies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes; policymakers will gain insights into designing equitable and effective frameworks; community organizations and practitioners will access case studies and grassroots innovations; and edtech developers will be exposed to ethical, sustainable, and learner-centered approaches to digital tools. In doing so, the Special Issue not only contributes to advancing scholarship but also aspires to inform policy, inspire practice, and shape the future of inclusive digital learning ecosystems.
Digital Education for All is envisioned as a scholarly and practical intervention—one that recognizes the transformative power of digital technologies while remaining attentive to the challenges of inequality, ethics, and sustainability. By fostering collaborative knowledge exchange and actionable insights, this Special Issue seeks to chart pathways toward a more inclusive, accessible, and resilient digital education landscape for learners everywhere.
