Call for Applications: for First Research Publication Awards at Centre for Studies of Plural Societies (CSPS), New Delhi

The Centre for Studies of Plural Societies (CSPS) is an independent, non-profit social science research institution located in New Delhi. CSPS aims to democratize knowledge and support emerging scholars by providing training and opportunities to early-career researchers and young graduates. We aim to support young scholars, particularly those from marginalised communities, in conducting rigorous data collection to explore contemporary research agendas aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to achieve a just and sustainable future.

Research Publication Awards

CSPS invites young scholars and researchers to submit their first research publication, which must be either published in one of the top journals of social sciences and humanities within the last six months or accepted for publication by the journal (last six months from the date of the deadline). The ten best research publications will each receive an award of 10,000 INR and a letter of appreciation from the jury.

Submission Rules

Applicants must be Indian nationals enrolled as graduate students (MA or PhD) in an Indian or international university.
The submission must be the first peer-reviewed journal article.
The article must have been either published or formally accepted for publication within six months of the deadline, i.e is 30th November 2025.
Submissions will be evaluated on a wide range of criteria, including the rank of the journal, quality of the article, research methodology, etc.
The article must be written in English or any officially recognised Indian language.
Women scholars, students from marginalised, rural backgrounds, differently abled, religious and gender minorities, are strongly encouraged to apply.
