Call for Papers: Digital Globalization and the Spread of Technology, Submission deadline: 30 November 2025

The possible or similar topics for this special issue could be as follows (but not limited to it):
• Investigate how digital platforms (e.g., e-commerce, fintech) are changing global trade, labor markets, and economic structures.
• Examine the challenges and opportunities digital globalization brings to cultural identity, inclusion, and diversity.
• Study the uneven access to digital technologies between countries, regions, and socio-economic groups, and its implications for global inequality.
• Investigate policy approaches to addressing the digital divide and fostering inclusive digital development.
• Explore how nations are balancing the benefits of digital globalization with the desire for technological sovereignty and control over digital infrastructure.
• Analyze the geopolitical implications of 5G, data control, and digital trade conflicts
• Explore how digital globalization could support the green transition, such as through global coordination of climate action.
• Investigate how digital globalization is transforming education and skills development, especially with the rise of online learning platforms.
• Explore the need for new digital competencies in the global workforce and the role of multinational corporations in this transformation.
Manuscript submission information:
All submissions must be original and may not be under review elsewhere. All manuscripts will be submitted via Research in Globalization (RESGLO) online submission system. Authors should indicate that the paper is submitted for consideration for publication in this special issue. When choosing Manuscript “Article Type” during the submission procedure, click “VSI: Digital Globalization – RESGLO”, otherwise your submission will be handled as a regular manuscript.
All submitted papers should address significant issues pertinent to the theme of this issue and fall within the scope of RESGLO. Criteria for acceptance include originality, contribution and scientific merit. All manuscripts must be written in English with high scientific writing standards. Acceptance for publication will be based on referees’ and editors’ recommendations, following a detailed peer review process.
