🔍 About the Course
The Munich Advanced Course in International Law (MACIL) is an intensive two-week summer school focusing on contemporary and highly debated issues in Public International Law. The programme is taught entirely in English and features distinguished international academics and practitioners who present cutting-edge research and practical insights.
The course maintains a small cohort (25–30 participants) to ensure close interaction between faculty and participants, fostering in-depth discussion and scholarly exchange. Past participants have included students and professionals from across the globe.
🎯 Target Group & Eligibility
Applicants must have:

At least one year of university study in law or political sciences

Basic knowledge of Public International Law

Very good command of written and spoken English
Eligible applicants include:

Graduate students (Law / International Relations / related fields)

PhD candidates and early-career academics

Advanced undergraduate students with substantial exposure to Public International Law

Legal practitioners working in international law–related fields
👉 Knowledge of German is not required.
