Call for paper: American Journal of Business (Innovation, Sustainability, and Business Performance )

The urgency to align innovation with sustainability has never been more critical, driven by global challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity, digital disruption, and socio-economic inequalities (Adams et al., 2016; Bocken et al., 2014; George et al., 2021). While existing literature underscores innovation as a key driver of competitive advantage (Baruk & Bialoskurski, 2020), it often overlooks the integration of sustainability imperatives, leaving a gap in understanding systemic, long-term business transformations (Teece, 2018). Recent global events, including the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions, and rising ESG mandates, have further highlighted the need for resilient, sustainable business models (Elkington, 2018; George et al., 2021). This Special Issue of American Journal of Business seeks to address these pressing societal, academic, and managerial demands by inviting rigorous, interdisciplinary research that explores the nexus of strategic innovation, business management, and sustainability.

We welcome conceptual, empirical, and case-based submissions that offer fresh theoretical perspectives, evaluate practical applications, and provide actionable insights for academia, industry, and policymakers. Contributions should align with themes such as strategic innovations for sustainability, innovative distribution channels, societal benefits of innovation, organizational culture fostering creativity, innovative management practices, and supply chain resilience. Submissions are expected to contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 8, 9, 12, and 17) and bridge the gap between research and real-world impact.
