Call for Papers: PhD Workshop, Green and Digital Transitions in the Single Market University of Luxembourg, 12-13 November 2026

The University of Luxembourg organizes a PhD workshop on 12 and 13 November 2026, to offer PhD candidates an opportunity to present papers related to the research objectives of the Doctoral Training Unit on the Green and Digital Transitions in the Single Market (DTU GREITMA).

The DTU GREITMA is funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) and brings together 13 PhD candidates. It aims to reflect on the societal, ecological and economic challenges that the Single Market faces in its ongoing integration process from three different perspectives: the transformative effect of the green and digital transitions on the Single Market, including its external dimension and the EU’s strategic autonomy ; the use of the Single Market’s mechanisms to regulate a data-driven society adapted to sustainability challenges; and the enforcement mechanisms to effectively apply and facilitate the green and digital transitions in a multi-level system.

The PhD workshop will provide an ideal forum for selected doctoral candidates to share their work-in-progress and receive feedback from leading experts, scholars and enthusiastic peers. We welcome submissions in the broad field of European Union law and governance which align with the overarching theme of the DTU. Applicants can therefore decide to zoom in on specific aspects of the current pivotal shifts in digitalisation and sustainability. Interdisciplinary methodological approaches are welcome and encouraged.

Participants will have 15 minutes to present their research, followed by panel discussions and feedback from expert discussants.

Interested applicants should submit a short abstract (maximum of 500 words) together with a CV to greitmaconference@uni.lu by the 1st of July 2026
