Call for Applications: for the post of Research Associate position at the Centre for International Law (CIL), National University of Singapore
This is a two-year contractual appointment associated with CIL’s International Economic Law and Policy (IELP) programme. The objective of this role is to support the IELP programme’s activities and to develop the research capabilities and knowledge of early-career scholars by immersing them in a dynamic and supportive research environment where they can enhance their understanding of various aspects of international economic law and policy. Past Research Associates have gone on to pursue PhD studies at leading universities, such as the University of Cambridge and the University of Vienna.
Qualifications
1. An LLM, JD or other relevant degree or equivalent professional experience;
2. A solid foundation in international economic law and/or policy, broadly understood, such as trade, investment, finance, or other areas of international economic regulation;
2. Excellent analytical, research and writing skills;
3. A high degree of self-motivation;
4. A minimum of two years of professional and/or research experience.

CIL was established in 2009 as a university-level research institute at the National University of Singapore. It is located on the Bukit Timah Campus of NUS, together with the Lee Kwan Yew School of Public Policy and other specialist research centres. As a university-level research institute, CIL engages in both legal and multi-disciplinary research on wide variety of international law issues. Its mission is to enable Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region to play a more significant role in the promotion and development of international law. The goal of the Centre is to produce academically rigorous research with practical policy implications.
