FREE CONTRACT TEARDOWN CLINIC FOR LAW STUDENTS & YOUNG LAWYERS! Register Now!

ABOUT THE SESSION

Law school teaches students how to read and interpret contracts, but practical training on how to draft contracts clearly, commercially and efficiently is often limited. To bridge this gap, Bhumesh Verma is conducting a free, intensive 60-minute Contract Teardown Session exclusively for a micro-cohort of 5 law students / young lawyers. The session is designed as an interactive practical clinic, rather than a conventional lecture. Participants will work through contract clauses, identify drafting problems, understand legal and commercial risks, and explore how complex contractual language can be made clearer and more effective.

WHAT IS CONTRACT TEARDOWN?

Contract Teardown is a practical exercise in which contractual clauses are examined clause-by-clause to understand:

  • What the clause actually means;
  • Whether the language is unnecessarily complicated;
  • Potential legal and commercial risks;
  • Drafting weaknesses and ambiguities;
  • How boilerplate language can be simplified; and
  • How to improve contractual drafting for real-world business situations.
