Call for Papers International Institute on Peace Education (IIPE), Granada, Spain, 2026 Submission Deadline- January 15, 2027
IIPE 2026 convened 60 educators from around the world in the historic multicultural city of Granada, Spain for a week-long, residential, learning community experience that enabled a rich exchange of peacebuilding research, theory, best practices, and actions, which were shared through IIPE’s dialogical, cooperative, and intersubjective modes of reflective and experiential learning for engagement.
The spirit of Granada as a historic center of dialogue, and intercultural symbiosis was enacted by the form and process of the IIPE. At its thematic core was a focus on the parallel challenges of deep ecological thinking and intercultural relations in the face of basic forms of structural injustice, violence and oppression, engaging reflection on and inquiry into possible responses and best practices.
To further advance this inquiry we invite articles that explore these challenges and responses, including conceptual shifts in theorizing peace and peace education toward frameworks of justice, holistic relational networks of interbeing, and ecological interconnection, care, and cultivation, listening to and being guided by nature’s imperatives, and exploring and working toward forms of organization and institutional structures and practices that respond to communal and international injustice and that politically instantiate the values and principles of peace as well as articles that addressrelated themes and issues.
Articles can be submitted in either English or Spanish and should not exceed 10,000 words (including references).
