About the Conference
A Two-Day National Conference on ‘’Democracy, Development and Transformation: Pathways For Viksit Bharat 2047’’ shall be held on 28-29 October 2026 at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Tuljapur Off-Campus.
This Conference is being organized by RC 29: Social Transformation & Development in collaboration with RC 03: Economy & Society, RC 07: Adivasi & Tribal Studies, and RC 31: Sociology of Sanitation as part of the ‘Platinum Jubilee Celebration’ of the Indian Sociological Society (ISS), New Delhi in association with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), that celebrates it’s Navati – 90th. Anniversary marking nine decades of institutional excellence, nation-building and a shared goal of equality, dignity, justice and inclusion.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission
• Abstracts should be in English, aligned with Conference central theme & sub-themes.
• Abstract sub-themes should be clearly indicated.
• Abstracts should not exceed more than 300 words.
• Abstracts should include – A Title, Name (s) of Author/Authors & their Affiliation.
• Abstract must be in- Times New Roman, 12-point font size, single-spaced with 1-inch margins all around.
• Selected Abstracts shall be intimated by e-mail for registration.
• Post conference, selected abstracts will have to submit full paper for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
• Conference proceedings shall also be published in an edited volume
