YCLF Call for Abstracts 2025_26
Seminar Format
The research seminars are pre-read events, lasting approximately 1.5 hours each, with papers circulated at least one week in advance. Authors will be asked to give a brief (5-10 minutes) presentation of their paper at the start of each seminar. This will be followed by a general Q&A which will be chaired by an academic from the host university.
All events will be hybrid, though we do hope you can attend in person.
Who and what we’re looking for
The YCLF is a research forum set up to promote criminal law research in the broadest sense. We therefore welcome papers on substantive criminal law, criminal law theory, criminal procedure / evidence, and criminal justice topics.
We encourage researchers at all stages, including PGRs, to submit an abstract for consideration. We will give priority to presenters who are available to present in person.
Submission Process
Please submit an abstract of no more than 300 words to Jackson Allen on j.l.allen@sheffield.ac.uk no later than 12pm on Tuesday 30 September 2025. We will aim to get back to you in early October to let you know whether or not you have been successful.
Please indicate your availability to present in-person when submitting your abstract, and enquire about travel funding if you think you will need it.
