The Gorchakov Fund announces a call for applications for “The Asian Dialogue — 2026”, a scientific and educational program that will take place from 9 to 11 September in Delhi, India.
The event is organised together with Observer Research Foundation — one of India’s leading research centers focusing on issues of international security, economics, energy and global governance.
This year’s topic: “The changing balance of power and the emergence of a new world order”.
The program will include:
— lectures and workshops with leading Russian and Asian experts;
— seminars and panel discussions on relevant issues of international relations;
— cultural and sightseeing program in Delhi.
Key discussion topics:
- The political and economic transformation of the Asia-Pacific region;
- The role of multilateral institutions—BRICS, the SCO, and ASEAN—in shaping a new world order;
- The prospects for cooperation between Russia and India in a multipolar world.
The program’s Academic Supervisor — Alexey Kupriyanov, Cand.of Science (History), Head of the Center of the Indo-Pacific Region, IMEMO.
Who is the program intended for?
Young professionals aged 18 to 35 from Russia, Asian countries, and other interested states, including:
- Researchers and graduate students (International Relations, Political Science, Economics, etc.)
- Journalists and analysts specializing in Asia-Pacific affairs
- Diplomats and government officials;
- Representatives of public sector organisations working in international cooperation;
Working language: English.
How to apply?
- Register on the English version of the Gorchakov Fund’s website or log into an existing account.
- Go to ‘My Projects’, click ‘Create Application’, and select ‘The Asian Dialogue – 2026’.
- Fill in all sections of the application form.
- Upload an analytical essay (up to 10,000 characters including spaces) on one of the topics listed below.
- Write a motivation letter (up to 2,000 characters) explaining why you want to join Asian Dialogue – 2026.
- Go to the ‘Apply’ section and click ‘Submit’.

- Russia-India Cooperation in the Emerging World Order: Opportunities and Limitations
- The Role of BRICS in Building the Multipolar International System
- How Is the Changing Balance of Power Reshaping Political and Economic Relations in Asia?
- Extra-Regional Powers in South Asia: Implications for Regional States
Terms of participation:
- The organisers cover the costs of accommodation, meals and transfer as part of the programme.
- The participants must pay for their travel to the location and back, visa fees, and medical insurance.
The travel expenses of the authors of the five best essays will be covered by the organisers.
The deadline for applications is July 15, 2026, 23:59 (Moscow time).
