Associate – IP Prosecution & Opposition
We are looking for an Associate to join our Trade Marks and IP practice. This is a hands-on team. The Associate will work directly with the Partner who leads the practice, on every stage of a matter, from the first search to the final hearing.
- Practice Area – Trade Marks & IP
- PQE – 2-3 Years (Law Firm Experience)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
. Prosecution: clearance searches and search opinions, filings, examination report responses, show-cause hearings, renewals and Madrid filings
. Oppositions: Trade Marks Journal watch, notices of opposition, counter statements, evidence and bearings, rectifications
. Enforcement: online investigations, cease-and- desist notices, marketplace takedowns, customs recordals, domain disputes and litigation support
. Copyright and contracts: copyright filings, licence and assignment agreements, and IP advisory opinions
. Practice growth: legal updates, client circulars and support on business development
Training will be given on Madrid filings, well-known mark applications, customs recordals, domain disputes, enforcement work, copyright filings and IP agreements, where not handled hefore
. Position – Associate
Location – New Delhi
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
. LL.B., enrolled with a State Bar Council
. 2-3 years’ post-qualification experience in trade mark practice at a law firm
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES
. Ability to run matters independently and keep every deadline on track
. Plans ahead, so drafts are ready for review well before the deadline
. Thorough, and checks every search, filing and draft before it goes out
. Brings the same quality to a routine filing as to a major matter
. Can explain a legal point to a client in plain language and confirm it in writing
. Keen to help build the practice, not only close the file at hand
