Description
Applications are invited for appointment as a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Law, for a project examining potential reforms to the law of privacy and data protection in Hong Kong. The appointee will advance the project’s empirical and analytical objectives through data collection, analysis, the preparation of research outputs and associated tasks.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Law (or equivalent) or a degree in related field; (ii) a demonstrated interest in the subject-matter; (iii) strong legal research, analysis and writing skills; and (iii) proficiency in English and Cantonese.
The appointee will be responsible for (a) conducting literature reviews on privacy law in Hong Kong and overseas, on other relevant digital governance frameworks and on related questions; (b) assisting the Principal Investigator in data collection and analysis, including interviews and liaison with local stakeholders, as well as preparation of research outputs; (c) providing administrative support for the project; and (d) assisting in the organisation of a workshop or similar events.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for at least six months, renewable subject to good performance and availability of funding. The commencement date will be set by agreement.
