About the Organisation

The Government of Assam established the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) in 2009. NLUJAA promotes and makes modern legal education and research facilities available to students and scholars drawn from across the country, including the North East, from different socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds.

The university’s dynamic engagement with legal research, advocacy, and social initiatives has further solidified its standing as an institution that not only educates future legal professionals but also actively contributes to the advancement of the legal field and society at large.

About CELAR

The Centre for Environmental Law, Advocacy and Research (CELAR), the first of its kind in North-East India, is devoted to strengthening and contributing to the jurisprudence on environmental law, under the auspices of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam. CELAR endeavours to be a torchbearer of NLUJAA’s mission to translate legal knowledge and skills into an instrument that addresses various environmental concerns of the country and especially the North-Eastern region of India.

Submission Process

  • Co-authorship of up to two authors is allowed.
  • Submissions must be made exclusively via the provided Google Form given at the end of the post; submissions through other channels will not be considered.
  • Submitted work must be original and will undergo AI and plagiarism screening; excessive AI use or plagiarism will lead to rejection.
  • Content must not include offensive, abusive, derogatory or defamatory material.
  • Authors bear sole responsibility for any legal violations.
  • If errors or inaccuracies are discovered in published work, authors must collaborate with editors to rectify or retract the article.

Formatting Guidelines

  • Submissions should be in MS Word format using Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1.5.
  • File name format: “Title_CELAR Blog”. Authors’ names or affiliations must not appear in the manuscript to ensure anonymity.
  • The short title must capture the essence and be no longer than ten words.
  • Hyperlinks are encouraged; if citation sources cannot be hyperlinked, use OSCOLA (4th edition) style in footnotes (Times New Roman, size 10, single spaced).
  • Article length should be between 1000 and 1500 words; longer articles may be considered with editor permission.

Additional Information

  • Non-compliance with guidelines may delay review or require revisions.
  • All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process.
  • Publication decisions rest solely with Editorial Board, who may relax rules at their discretion.
  • Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection typically within 10 days, though it may extend up to 21 days.
