CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST: MSCA POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS 2026, APPLY BY 16 February 2026

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF)   are among Europe’s most prestigious awards for research excellence. They are designed to support the career development and training of researchers through international and intersectoral mobility.

The Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL)  of the Law School-NKUA invites postdoctoral researchers to express their interest in developing a joint proposal for the 2026 MSCA-PF. We particularly welcome proposals focusing on:

  • International Human Rights Law 
  • Law of the Sea & Maritime Security
  • International Environmental Law & Energy Law
  • Critical Perspectives on International Law 

Interested researchers should check that they fulfill the respective eligibility criteria and send an expression of interest to athenspil@law.uoa.gr  and  mgavoun@law.uoa.gr with the subject line  “MSCA-PF 2026 Expression of Interest”   by 16 February 2026 . Expressions of Interest must include a 2-page summary presentation of the research proposal and a short CV.

Successful candidates will be contacted in late March 2026 and will receive expert guidance from Professor Maria Gavouneli to co-develop their full application. The final proposal must be submitted to the EU Funding & Tenders Portal by 9 September 2026.

Key Features of the Program me :

  • Target Audience: Researchers of any nationality who hold a PhD and have a maximum of 8 years of full-time research experience.
  • Mobility Rule: Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Greece for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline.
  • Funding: The fellowship provides a competitive salary (living allowance), mobility allowance, and, if applicable, family and long-term leave allowances. It also covers research, training, and networking costs.
  • Duration: 12 to 24 months for European Fellowships.
