The International Law Association – Egyptian Branch is pleased to announce its first Annual Conference 2026: Contemporary Challenges in International Law: Regional Perspectives & Emerging Prospects

πŸ“ Hosted by The German University in Cairo

The conference will bring together academics, practitioners, representatives of international and public institutions, students and early-career professionals to discuss contemporary challenges in international law from regional and global perspectives.

The programme will address issues including:
– use of force, conflict management and regional security;
– contemporary challenges in international humanitarian law;
– natural resources and resource nationalism;
– international investment law and dispute settlement;
– commercial and maritime disputes in a changing geopolitical environment;
– the future of international law; and
– careers in international law.

Ahead of the main conference, a dedicated online Students’ Training Day will take place on 12 November 2026, introducing students to key principles of public and private international law related to the core themes of the conference.

Approved participants will subsequently receive registration and payment information. The ILA Egypt is a non-profit organization, and any registration fees are intended solely to contribute to the costs of organizing the conference.
