ABOUT THE MAHARAJA SAYAJIRAO UNIVERSITY OF BARODA
The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is a premier unitary residential state university, established on 30th
April, 1949 recognized by Government of India under the Indian Universities Act, 1958. The University, been assigned
‘A+’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council, was founded by visionary Maharajas and formally
chartered by Maharaja Pratapsinhrao Gaekwad. Since its inception in 1949, the University has demonstrated a keen
interest and a commitment to the sustenance and promotion of an environment, favourable to the growth and
development of an academic excellence – a commitment that forms a part of the rich legacy of the institution. The
University comprises of 111 Departments under the umbrella of 14 Faculties, 3 Constituent Colleges, 8 Institutes and
13 Centres of Specialized Studies, wherein more than 47,000 students pursue higher studies under the care and
supervision of more than 1450 highly qualified and experienced teaching staff.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
In an era marked by unprecedented environmental challenges, from accelerating climate change and widespread
biodiversity loss to pollution, unsustainable resource consumption, and ecological degradation, there is a threat to the
environment and ecosystem. These challenges not only threaten ecosystems and economies but also deepen social
inequalities, disproportionately affecting vulnerable communities, especially indigenous and marginalized
populations. As the global community grapples with these complex issues, the intricate relationship between the
environment, law, and society has become increasingly critical.
CALL FOR PAPERS
· Research papers / articles in English are invited from academicians, professionals, practitioners, researchers,
students of law, social science and environmental science, and other stakeholders on the emerging issues and
related areas on the broader topics given above.
. The selected papers based on quality shall be published.
· Additional publication charges for the selected articles, if any, will be intimated in due course.
PARTICIPANTS
. The aim of the conference is to invite the Researchers / Academicians / Policy makers / Research Scholars /
Foreign Nationals / Students, undertaking research within the broad theme of contemporary issues in Law,
Environment and Society to participate and present papers.
· Scholars registered in non-law disciplines but working on primarily legal issues from an interdisciplinary
perspective are also invited to participate.
MODE OF CONFERENCE
. The Conference sessions will be organized in the Offline Mode, except for foreign nationals residing out of
India.
· No TA/DA and accommodation will be provided.
