Call for Papers: International Conference on Law, Development and SDGs: Building Inclusive and Resilient Society 2026, 6 AND 7 FEBRUARY, 2026
MAHARASHTRA NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The International Conference on “Law, Development and SDGs: Building Inclusive and Resilient Society,” being organized by Maharashtra National Law University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, explores the complex interconnections between law, development, and environmental sustainability. The universal pursuit of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has revealed tensions between economic growth and ecological preservation, especially within postcolonial contexts where extractivist legal frameworks persist. Modern development, often anthropocentric, marginalizes both ecological systems and vulnerable communities, particularly in the Global South. Environmental justice offers a corrective approach by advocating equitable participation and ecocentric paradigms that recognize the rights of nature and the interdependence of human and ecological well-being.
