The Institute of Marine and Environmental Law (IMEL) at the University of Cape Town is proud to host the 23rd IUCN Academy of Environmental Law Colloquium. The Academy’s Colloquia are annual international gatherings of specialists in environmental law from across all regions of the world.

They provide a forum for legal scholars and experts to come together to exchange knowledge, experiences and fellowship. In the context of the planetary crisis we are facing, the opportunity for representative knowledge sharing and knowledge making that the Colloquia provide has become more important than ever. You are warmly invited to join us in Cape Town to participate in the sharing of Northern and Southern legal perspectives, proposals and dialogue on addressing the planetary crisis.
