Behavioral Sciences & the Law announces a forthcoming special issue on Rape Myths in the Criminal Justice System to be co-edited by Dominic Willmott, Ph.D. and Heng Choon (Oliver) Chan, Ph.D. The aim of this special issue is to provide a contemporary perspective on how rape myths and stereotypes continue to impact upon justice systems and processes, internationally. Manuscripts that address the following topics are especially welcome: Original research reports, meta-analyses, systematic reviews, and theoretical essays concerning the nature, role, influence and various aspects of rape mythology in police investigations, prosecutorial decision-making, attorney case presentation and judge and jury decision-making. The goal of this special issue is to offer a combined empirical-, theoretical- and practical-oriented collection of work that examines contemporary evidence pertaining to how rape myths are invoked, challenged and relied upon within international criminal justice systems.

Manuscripts should be 25 to 30 doubled-spaced typewritten pages and should comply with the editorial and referencing style of the most recent edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association or the Harvard Law Review’s Association’s The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (but not both).
