The African Journal of Fashion Law and Policy
The African Journal of Fashion Law & Policy (AJFLP) is the continent’s first peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the legal and policy dimensions of Africa’s fashion and creative industries.
Published biannually by the Fashion Law Academy Africa, the Journal brings together legal scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and industry professionals to advance rigorous, Africa-centred scholarship on the frameworks governing fashion, textiles, cultural expression, and the creative economy across the continent.
Africa’s fashion industry is one of the most culturally significant and commercially dynamic sectors on the continent. Yet the legal and policy infrastructure supporting it remains fragmented, underdeveloped, and underexamined in academic literature. AJFLP exists to close that gap by publishing work that is intellectually rigorous, practically relevant, and grounded in the realities of African legal systems and African market contexts.
The Journal welcomes submissions from law students, legal academics, practising lawyers, doctoral researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals. We publish academic articles, case notes, book reviews, and practitioner commentary.
