ABOUT 5TH MAIMS NATIONAL MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION, 2026

MAIMS 5th Mock Trial Competition, 2026, aims to provide a dynamic platform for students across India to showcase their advocacy and research skills in a professional and intellectually stimulating environment. This year’s theme goes beyond merely emphasizing the importance of mental health; it underscores the urgent need for its early diagnosis in a society where superstition often clouds judgment, even among the educated. Through this theme, the competition seeks to foster awareness, encourage informed discourse, and promote timely recognition of mental health concerns, highlighting the role of law and society in addressing these critical issues.

Dates And Venue

The 5th MAIMS Mock Trial Competition, 2026 will be held from 10th September 2026 to 12th September 2026 and 25th September 2026 & 26th September 2026. This event shall be conducted in Hybrid Mode, for which the below-mentioned segregation shall be followed: Virtual Rounds: – Preliminary Rounds I & II; and – Quarter-Final Round

Physical Rounds: – Semi-Final Round; and – Final Round

NOTE: Accommodation will be provided for qualifying teams. Charges will apply for teams opting for accommodation in Delhi.

Team Eligibility and Composition

The competition is open for students who are pursuing the LL.B three-year/five-year course during the current academic year.

. Two teams from each institute are allowed to participate in the competition. However, it is made clear that if two teams from one institution are participating, then only one of them can be allowed to advance to the Semi Final round. And the team which has scored more between the two shall be given permission to proceed.

. Each team shall consist of four members. A team shall require a minimum of two Speakers as a mandatory prerequisite, and the archers-cu- remaining two members shall serve as Researchers-cum- Witnesses.

Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/- [Rupees Five Thousand Onlyl.

Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/- [Rupees Five Thousand Onlyl.

E. Best Memorial.

Cash Prize of Rs. 5,000/- [Rupees Five Thousand Only].
