Call for Registrations: First Edition · 2026–27- International Digital Law Moot, Registration Deadline- 30 November 2026

Student teams from Uzbekistan and abroad argue the law of the digital world before real jurists.

Where law meets code. A simulated international commercial arbitration on the law of the digital world, organised by Tashkent State University of Law.

Open to undergraduate and graduate law students from any country who are not licensed to practise law. Teams of two to four students; a coach is optional. The competition is held in English.

Each season’s Moot Problem is drawn from the fields where technology meets law.

The UNIDROIT Principles on Digital Assets and Private Law may apply as an interpretative or supplementary source. The Moot Problem of the first edition is out: Aerolith Carbon Solutions S.A. v. VerdeLedger Registry Ltd., an SCC arbitration on tokenised carbon units and an automated cancellation.

  2. 25 Oct 2026NextRequests for clarification closeQuestions on facts and ambiguities in the Problem only.
  3. 15 Nov 2026Clarifications releasedThey become part of the Moot Problem for every team.
  4. 30 Nov 2026Registration closes. Applications to judge close.Final team rosters are due. Academics, practitioners and arbitrators apply on the Judges page.
  5. 15 Dec 2026Memorials dueClaimant and Respondent memorials, in PDF and DOCX.
  6. 20 Dec 2026Oral round pairings publishedWith the schedule for the hearings in Tashkent.
  7. By 22 Dec 2026Memorials exchangedEach team receives its opponents’ memorials within a week of the deadline.
  8. 15–16 Jan 2027Oral rounds in TashkentPreliminary rounds, then the semi-finals.
  9. 17 Jan 2027Final, results and awards ceremonyChampion, Runner-up, Best Memorial and Best Oralist. Protests: within 30 minutes of a round, or within 24 hours for other matters.

Registration is open from 30 September to 30 November 2026. There is no registration fee, and dormitory accommodation and coffee breaks are provided during the oral rounds.
