About the University
Kristu Jayanti University, established in 1999, is a premier institution of higher education committed to excellence in teaching, research and innovation. It attained autonomous status in 2013 and was conferred the status of Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, on July 8, 2025. The University offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Arts, Science, Commerce, Management, and Integrated Law.
About the School of Law
School of Law, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) Bengaluru, was established in 2017 with an aim to nurture legal professionals to be well-versed in justice, ethics and social obligations. The School offers 5-year integrated law programme including B.A. LL.B.(H), B.Com LL.B.(H), and B.B.A. LL.B.(H) and LL.M programme.
About the ADR Cell
The Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Cell of School of Law, Kristu Jayanti (Deemed to be University) plays a key role in promoting awareness and practical knowledge of ADR methods among law students. To meet the growing demand for efficient dispute resolution, the cell organizes mediation competitions, workshops, and sessions on ADR mechanisms. These activities provide students with practical skills, moving beyond traditional court litigation toward modern, cost-effective solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
1. The competition is open to students enrolled in a 3- year or 5-year law programme in universities/colleges recognised by the Bar Council of India.
2. Each team shall consist of three members: one mediator and two members acting as client and counsel, i.e. a mediating pair.
3. Cross-institutional teams, which includes members from different institutions, are not permitted.
4. A maximum of TWO teams per college is allowed.
5. Any changes in the criteria of eligibility are subject to the discretion of the ADR Cell.
TEAM COMPOSITION
1. Each participating team shall consist of three members, all of whom must be from the same institution.
2.A team shall comprise a Mediator and a Mediating Pair.
3. The Mediating Pair shall consist of a Counsel and a Client.
4. After final registration, no team shall be allowed to change its composition and roles in any rounds.
5. If any question arises regarding the same, the ADR Cell of the school of law shall have the discretion upon the same.
6. No team shall be accompanied by a coach or an instructor.
Registration Process
1. The registration will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
2. Every Institute may register a maximum of two teams.
3. Participating teams have to pay a registration fee of ₹2,000/- per team for preliminary rounds.
4. Once the payment is done; NO REQUEST OF REFUND CAN BE INTIATIED.
5. Teams qualifying to the Advance-rounds shall pay an additional sum of ₹3,000/- per team.
6. Payment can be made through bank transfer/UPI. Details will be shared with teams upon confirmation of provisional registration.
7.After registration, the teams will receive a confirmation mail by the ADR Cell and Team Codes will be allotted to each team via mail (Example: TC 02).

Structure of the Competition
- Preliminary Rounds
All registered teams will compete in two preliminary rounds, which will be 30 minutes each. (ONLINE)2.
- Pre-Quarters
The top twenty (20) teams will move on to pre-quarters, which will also be 30 minutes. (OFFLINE).
- Quarter Finals
The top eight (8) teams will advance to the quarter finals, and the round will be a knock-out round of 30 minutes. (OFFLINE).
- Semi-Finals
Four (4) teams will compete for the Semi-Finals, which will be a knock-out round of 45 minutes. (OFFLINE).
- Final Round
The final two (2) teams will contest for the championship for 60 minutes. (OFFLINE).
