Call for Submissions: Cambridge International Law Journal, Volume 15(2), Submission Deadline- 24 May 2026
The Editorial Board of the Cambridge International Law Journal is pleased to invite submissions for Volume 15(2), to be published in December 2026.
The CILJ accepts the following types of submissions:
- Articles between 6,000 and 12,000 words including footnotes; and
- Case Notes, including substantive analysis, not exceeding 3,000 words including footnotes.
Submissions are subject to double-blind peer review. The CILJ’s Editorial Board reviews all pieces, and select articles are sent to the Academic Review Board, which consists of distinguished international law scholars and practitioners.
Theme of the issue
Submissions must align with the theme of Volume 15(2), which builds on the 15th CILJ Annual Conference entitled ‘Reimagining International Law: Critical, Regional, and Trans-Disciplinary Perspectives’. The Editors encourage prospective contributors to engage with neglected traditions, marginalised voices, and alternative vocabularies.
Authors are invited to explore how international law operates within broader social, political, economic, and technological contexts, and to consider how critical, regional, and trans-disciplinary approaches may open pathways toward more just, inclusive, and responsive legal futures.
Submissions adopting critical legal perspectives across all areas of public international law, as well as those addressing regionalism and transnational legal orders, are particularly welcome.

Submissions for Volume 15(2) must be received through the online Submittable platform by 23:59 (BST) on Sunday, 24 May 2026.
Please list the word count of the text and the footnotes on your manuscript.
All copies must be submitted in Word (.doc) or (.docx) format and must conform to our style guidelines, which are available at the following links:
