Call for Submissions: The Centre for Development Policy and Practice (CDPP) on Climate and Society – Building the Future We Choose

The Centre for Development Policy and Practice (CDPP) welcomes article submissions from undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), PhD scholars, and working professionals that explore topics related to development and policy issues. We invite contributors from all academic levels to share their perspectives and insights on the issues that matter most to the community, including but not limited to health equity, gender justice, human rights, and sustainable development goals.

November – December 2025 Theme – Climate and Society – Building the Future We Choose

As the world confronts intensifying climate disruptions, societies stand at a defining moment. Sustainability is no longer an abstract goal—it is a shared responsibility that demands action across governance, education, economy, and community life. This theme explores how people, institutions, and movements are shaping pathways toward a sustainable, equitable future and what choices will define the century ahead. This call for submissions invites critical explorations into these intersections.

Submission Deadline: November 30, 2025

Submission Guidelines: Submissions may cover, but are not limited to, the following sub-themes:

1. Education and Climate Literacy

  • Building awareness and capacity through climate education.
  • Integrating sustainability into curricula and skill development.
  • Role of youth, communities, and local institutions in promoting environmental learning.

2. Policy, Governance, and Climate Justice

  • National and local governance frameworks for climate adaptation and mitigation.
  • Environmental justice and equitable access to sustainable resources.
  • Community participation, accountability, and indigenous leadership in climate policy.

3. Sustainable Infrastructure and Urban Futures

  • Green cities, renewable energy, and climate-resilient infrastructure.
  • Sustainable transport, waste management, and water systems.
  • Planning for inclusive, low-carbon, and adaptive urban growth.

4. Health, Environment, and Human Well-being

  • Impacts of climate change on physical and mental health.
  • Air pollution, heatwaves, and disease burdens in vulnerable communities.
  • Holistic approaches to planetary health and sustainability.

Length: Articles should be between 800 and 1500 words in length.

Originality: Articles should be original and previously unpublished. All submissions must maintain an AI content detection rate below 30% and a plagiarism score below 10%

Format: Please submit your article in a Word document format with 12pt Cambria font, single line spacing, with 1-inch margins.

APA Style: All submissions should follow APA 7 style guidelines for in-text citations and references. Please ensure that all sources are properly cited and referenced using footnote style. Submissions should not include endnotes.

Abstract: Please include an abstract of not more than 100 words.

Author Information: Please include a short author bio (maximum 100 words) and a profile picture to accompany your article.

Submission: Please email your submission to info@cdpp.co.in with the subject line “CDPP Blog Submission.” Please submit your Word document named as “author name_topic.”Please ensure that any images or charts are of high quality and are submitted separately in .jpeg or .png format.

Review Process: Once we receive your submission, it will be reviewed by our editorial team. We will aim to respond to selected submissions within 2 weeks of submission. Please note that due to the high volume of submissions we receive, only selected submissions will receive a reply. We appreciate your understanding and thank you for considering the Centre for Development Policy and Practice (CDPP) as a platform for sharing your insightful and thought-provoking articles on development and policy issues.

CDPP reserves the right to edit and/or reject submissions based on our editorial policies and guidelines. We will notify authors of any substantive changes we make to their articles.
