About Chhanv Foundation

It supports survivors through medical aid, psychological counselling, legal support, vocational training, employment opportunities, public awareness campaigns. It operates Sheroes Hangout Cafés, which provide safe and empowering spaces for acid attack survivors.

About the Internship

Chhanv Foundation is inviting applications for interns to support its research, case coordination, documentation, outreach, and programme-related work.

  1. Intern – Programme & Outreach – This is a field and desk-based role involving survivor outreach, case coordination, government liaisoning, legal research, compensation and RTI work, documentation, reporting, and programme support.
  2. Intern – Research & Programme Support – This is a desk-work-only role involving legal and policy research, case documentation, compensation and RTI-related work, case coordination, record management, reporting, government correspondence, and other programme support activities.

Responsibilities

Programme & Outreach Intern

  • Visiting acid attack survivors at their homes to understand and check their health and rehabilitation status.
  • Conducting field visits for identification and verification of new acid attack survivor cases.
  • Reaching out to new and existing cases for updates and support.
  • Visiting police stations and coordinating with concerned officials regarding survivor cases.
  • Assisting with legal, medical, rehabilitation, compensation, case coordination requirements.
  • Coordinating with bureaucratic and government authorities, including DMs, SPs, and other concerned officials.
  • Supporting advocacy relating to acid sale regulation, other issues concerning acid attack survivors.
  • Assisting with Victim Compensation Scheme and other compensation-related documentation, applications, follow-ups, and coordination.
  • Assisting with RTI research, drafting support, filing, tracking, and record maintenance.
  • Maintaining survivor profiles, case records, databases, trackers, spreadsheets, reports, and other documentation.
  • Conducting legal and policy research on acid attack survivors, acid sale regulations, compensation, rehabilitation, and relevant laws and policies.
  • Preparing letters, applications, representations, meeting requests, and other official communications.
  • Supporting survivor outreach, communication, follow-up, documentation during field visits.

Research & Programme Support Intern

  • Researching the Victim Compensation Scheme and other compensation mechanisms relevant to acid attack survivors.
  • Assisting with compensation applications, supporting documentation, records, and case-wise updates.
  • Following up with government departments and authorities regarding compensation applications, pending payments, documents, and case-related matters.
  • Preparing and sending official letters and emails requesting meetings with concerned departments and authorities.
  • Researching acid sale regulations, laws, rules, guidelines, government notifications, and relevant policies.
  • Conducting legal and policy research on issues concerning acid attack survivors and their rehabilitation.
  • Assisting with RTI research, drafting support, filing, tracking, and maintenance of RTI records and databases.
  • Maintaining survivor profiles, case records, databases, spreadsheets, reports, trackers, case summaries, and other documentation.
  • Preparing official letters, applications, representations, meeting requests, follow-up communications, and reports.
  • Supporting the preparation and compilation of information for ongoing projects and campaigns.
  • Assisting with data management using MS Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and other digital formats.

Eligibility

  • Law students
  • Recent law graduates.
  • Interest in legal research, documentation, case coordination, social-impact initiatives.
  • Be able to find, understand, organise, and present relevant information.
  • Be proficient in MS Office tools, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint, and Google Docs.
  • Be comfortable using search engines and online research resources.
  • Have a good command of English and Hindi.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, and Google Docs is mandatory.
