CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: FOR THE POST OF IPR CHAIR PROFESSOR AT NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad invites expression of interest for the contractual position of full time IPR Chair Professor for Intellectual Property Rights Chair, NALSAR established by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, under the Scheme for Pedagogy & Research in IPRs for Holistic Education & Academia (SPRIHA).
Role Summary:
The Chair Professor will promote teaching and research on Intellectual Property (IP) related subjects at the University. The Chair Professor will expand IP knowledge base including through research on global best practices, foster collaborations with other academic institutions in India and abroad, and build engagement with industry, students and other stakeholders like startups and innovators on intellectual property (IP) matters. The Chair Professor will publish regularly on various public platforms.
Eligibility Criteria:
An individual would be eligible to be appointed as an IPR Chair if he:
has served as, or meets the eligibility criteria for serving as, a Professor or an Associate Professor as prescribed by the UGC; and possesses sufficient teaching and research experience in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), or
is an IP attorney who has practiced IPR law for a minimum of ten years, OR any other professional who has gained significant recognition in the field of IPR with no less than ten years of experience in the said field, or
is a retired official of the IP Office under CGPDTM, holding a doctorate degree, with a minimum of five years of experience working at Level 12 or above, such as Controller of Patent & Design, Registrar of Trademark & Geographical Indications, or Registrar of Copyrights.
Age and Tenure:
Any individual above the age of 70 years shall not be eligible for the appointment as IPR Chair. The appointment is a full time position on contract
