5 Days Residential Workshop on Resource Rights, Environmental Governance and Environmental Jurisprudence


The Centre for Science, Technology & Society of TISS, Mumbai will be conducting a five-day residential workshop on resource rights, environmental governance and jurisprudence.

The main objective of the workshop is to develop and enhance the conceptual, institutional and regulatory structures for the environment sector in India. In doing so, the participants will be oriented how to critically review and evaluate the institutional framework, organizational structures and case laws for the environment sector in India.
The core areas of focus in the workshop will include land and forest rights, environmental regulation, coastal zone management, wildlife conservation, and environmental jurisprudence among others. The workshop seeks to bring together 25 participants from diverse backgrounds- research scholars, practitioners, lawyers, journalists, and government officers who have a core interest in the field of resource rights, environmental governance and jurisprudence. The five-day workshop will include one day field visit to a village in Raigad District, Maharashtra.

A traveling reimbursement of maximum Rs. 6000/- will be provided on submission of actual bills/tickets along with food and accommodation for five days to all the participants.


We are looking for participants from a diverse pool of profession ranging from research scholars, lawyers, journalists, practitioners and government officers. Those who are interested are requested to fill the google form.
