About the Book

Media law is that area of law which is always in the spotlight. As a branch of law it is one of the most vibrant areas where the debate of regulation and deregulation is perpetual. During the recent years role of media has been under question often and the debate for media regulation has intensified.

Media law and ethics have been an area of interdisciplinary study and research for students and professionals of law and media respectively. The objective of coming up with a work like this is to have a complete and holistic understanding and a diverse perspective of the media laws. This book is primarily aimed at dealing with not only the set framework of media law, practices and ethics but also with such ever-evolving concepts and development, which make this branch of law richer.

About the Call for Chapter

This call for chapter is focussed upon having a systematised understanding of various themes in media law. The approach of editors is to make this book best suited as per the course offered by various books law schools and institutes for journalism studies. The contributions shall be published in form of a book with an ISBN with a publisher of repute.

About the Editors: 

Dr. Namita Jain: Head of Department in Faculty of Law, JECRC University, Jaipur. Dr. Namita has over 10
years of experience in teaching. She is a member of Reputed Professional Bodies. She is also a member of editorial board of reputed journal. She has in her credit 14 Research papers published in UGC Care, Peer reviewed, Referred journals along with 1 book chapters. She has attended various national and international
conferences, seminars and workshops. She has devoted a lot of time in researching and has command over Jurisprudence, Law relating to Women and Children, Corporate Law etc.

Mr. Shailendra Pratap Singh Bhati: Mr. Shailendra Pratap Singh Bhati, a Media academician and practitioner, pursuing Ph.D in Cinema Studies from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He is having 10-year experience in Media Academics, Core-media practices, Media Research and Film-activism. His core areas of expertise are Media Law, Critical Media Pedagogy and Film Studies. Presently working as Assistant Professor with JECRC University, Jaipur (Raj.).

Ms. Shriya Agarwal:
She is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Law, JECRC University Jaipur.
Having pursued his BALLB (Hons) from Nirma University Ahmadabad, she pursued
LL.M. in Constitutional and Administrative Law from Gujarat National Law
University, Gandhinagar where she was awarded Gold medal for exemplary
performance. She has cleared the UGC-NET (Law) examination in 2018 while she
was still pursuing her LL.M. She is a member of Indian Academic Researchers
Association, Chennai. She has a keen interest in researching and contributing
towards legal academia. Her areas of interest include Constitutional law,
Comparative Public Law, Administrative Law and Civil Procedure.

Mr. Abhas Srivastava: He is an Assistant Professor at Faculty of Law, JECRC University Jaipur. Having pursued his BALLB (Hons) from Nirma University Ahmadabad, he pursued LL.M. in Constitutional and Administrative Law from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. He has cleared the UGC-NET (Law) examination in 2018 while he was still pursuing his LL.M. He is a member of Indian Academic Researchers Association, Chennai. He is member of various Committees at University level and is guiding students in their research for National and International moots. He has a keen interest in bridging the gap between the academia, policy making and the industry in the legal field. His areas of interest include Constitutional law, Comparative Public Law, Administrative Law and Civil Procedure.

The above-mentioned topics are suggestive in nature. The submissions related to any other topic within the purview of media law and practice shall be considered. Submissions of contemporary developments shall be highly appreciated.

Submission Guidelines

§  Eligibility: The submissions are welcome from academicians, students, professionals as well as
anyone having a deep interest in the subject.

§  Word
Limit:  The chapter may be between 3000-4500
words including footnotes.

§  Authors’
Details: Details about the author(s), including
qualifications and institutional affiliations, if any, are to be mentioned in
the covering letter.

§  Co-authorship:
Up to 2 authors is permitted.

§  Plagiarism: Only
original, previously unpublished and un-plagiarised work needs to be submitted.
The plagiarism level must be less than 10%. A copy of plagiarism report from any recognised software like Urkund or Turnitin must be attached with the work.

§  Abstract: The
chapter must be accompanied by an abstract of 200-300 words.

§  Citation: A
uniform mode of citation i.e. Harvard Bluebook 19th edition must be
followed throughout the work.

§  Font
Details: Times New Roman, Size 12, Line Spacing 1,
Justified. Title heading: 14, Footnotes size :10

§  Review: The
submissions received would be reviewed by the panel of Editors to determine
whether the subject matter is within the scope of the topic and assess the
quality of the manuscript.

§  Publication: The
Book will be published by the publisher of repute with ISBN No.

§  Submission: All
