ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY:
REVA University has been established under the Government of Karnataka Act 80 of the year 2012. The University is located in Bengaluru on a sprawling green campus, spread over 45 acres of land, built with state-of-the-art infrastructure creating an environment conducive for higher learning and research. REVA University offers admissions to various graduate, postgraduate and Ph.D. program. REVA University is located at Rukmini Knowledge Park, Kattigenahalli, Yelahanka, Bengaluru. Bangalore City Railway Station is located around 15 Kms from the REVA University. Candidates traveling by train can reach the University campus via city bus service or cab. The nearest airport to REVA University is Kempegowda International Airport which is located around 12 KMs from the campus. From the airport, candidates can take a cab to reach the college campus.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE:
In India, National Sports Day was celebrated for the first time on 29th August’2012. Since then, National Sports Day is celebrated every year to celebrate the
birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand who secured three Olympic golds – 1928, 1932, and 1936. The “Wizard” (as popularly called) scored over 400 goals in his 22 years long career spanning from 1926 to 1948. In this continuation, Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU- Central University) and REVA University in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is organizing an international conference on sports law. The primary objective of the conference is to underline the vital role of the Sport’s Governing Bodies (SGBs) such as IOC, WADA, CAS, and NADOs in providing a level- playing field to the participants. It aims to disseminate awareness about the dispute settlement mechanism in sports. It will provide a forum to the professionals, academicians, and students to deliberate on the contemporary issues of sports law and its interface with other areas as contract law, labor law, IPR, etc.
The organisers are planning to publish an edited book on sports law and which
will be published by a reputed international publisher Routledge/Springer.
