OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this course is to introduce students, academicians, young lawyers and professionals to the nuances of Competition Law and the connected stems there to. The course will acquaint the participants with the intricacies of Domestic & International Competition Law. It will enable them to learn the basics of Competition Law, Consumer Protection, techniques, how to draft appeals, interim documents pleadings, and various other related facets of Competition Law.

This Online course will cover the following topics:

Introduction to Competition Act, 2002.
Introduction to Consumer Protection Act, 1986.
Evolution and Development of Consumer Law in India.
Basic concepts of Competition law with focus to consumerism.
Major Amendments under Competition Act and Consumer ProtectionAct.
Relevance of competition law to start- ups, funded start-ups and newbusinesses.
CCI and Consumer Welfare.
Conflict between CCI and sectoral intervention like Sports, Telecom,etc.
Concept and in-depth understanding of Anti- Competitive Agreements& Abuse of Dominance.
Consumer Protection and Unfair Business Conduct.
Inquiry and investigation in enforcement cases.
Digital Consumer Protection and resolution of disputes.
Framework of the Institutions for regulating competition and consumerprotection.
International and Comparative Competition Law.
Drafting of complaint.
Recent Developments in the market in context to India, UK and EU.
